This article only applies to ILLiad version 9.0 and any previous versions. As of ILLiad 9.1, the OCLC Resource Sharing Settings interface was removed from within the client (the interface used to change Custom Holdings Paths, Custom Holdings Groups, Constant Data, and Direct Request Profiles) and replaced it with a button that links out to the OCLC Interface where the updated settings can be located.

Custom Holdings allow you to prioritize potential lenders by setting up groups of lender symbols and setting up holdings paths that determine which groups of lender symbols display in which order when results are returned by OCLC Searching. First create a Custom Holdings Groups, organizing similar libraries in a group (e.g. Libraries that Lend for Free), then create a Custom Holding Path to order the Groups. You may specify distinct default Custom Holdings Paths to be used by the system for Loans and for Articles. This is done in the ILLiad Customization Manager. To set up additional Custom Holdings Paths to be accessed manually during the searching process.

Names for Custom Holdings Groups and Paths are limited to 5 characters.
