Odyssey will attempt to send the electronic article to the borrowing institution as often as you wish. The time interval between attempts is governed by the OdysseySendInterval key in the Customization table. This key is measured in seconds. In an example where OdysseyMaxSendTries is set to 5 and OdysseySendInterval is set to 600, Odyssey will attempt to send the article to the borrowing institution's ILLiad server every 600 seconds (10 minutes) for a total of 5 times.
If Odyssey Sending Fails
If Odyssey makes the last designated attempt to send an article and is still unsuccessful, the transaction will display as an Odyssey Error. The Items Need Attention button will display in the System group of the Main page and an entry will be created in the Odyssey Manager Log. You can attempt to resend the article or contact the borrowing institution.

Enabling/Disabling Odyssey
Disabling Odyssey is used for instances where the TN was failing over Odyssey or the borrowing library wasn't receiving the first PDF over Odyssey for some reason, and you want to (just for disable Odyssey so that your resend will go out over Article Exchange instead. Enabling Odyssey is used when you want to attempt to resend the article over Odyssey and it was previously disabled.
If the button is Red and says 'Disable Odyssey' then a resend on that TN WILL go out over Odyssey, because Odyssey is already enabled for this TN.
If the button is Green and says 'Enable Odyssey', then a resend on this TN will NOT to out over Odyssey, because Odyssey is already disabled for this TN.
