Configuring the Aeon Home Page

Print Friendly and PDF Follow

The Aeon home page is the landing page for users logging into the Aeon web interface. Users will also be redirected to the home page after performing certain actions such as submitting a new request. The default home page and customization options will vary based on the version of Aeon that is currently installed.

Current Defaults (Aeon 5.2)

As of Aeon v5.2, the Main Menu web page (MainMenu.html) has been deprecated and replaced by the Outstanding Requests (ViewOutstandingRequests.html) web page as the default Aeon home page. The Aeon web home page is customizable using the WebHomePage customizable key in the Aeon Customization Manager.

Sites updating from a previous version of Aeon to Aeon 5.2 that have not yet updated their web pages can still change the default home page using the WebHomePage key following the instructions below.

Legacy Defaults (Aeon 5.1 and earlier)

For sites on Aeon v5.1 or earlier, the default home page of the Aeon web interface is the Main Menu (MainMenu.html) web page. The Aeon web home page is not customizable and will always default to the Main Menu.

Legacy Aeon installations that have MainMenu.html in their web directories may continue using the Main Menu as the home page after updating to Aeon 5.2, however, the use of this web page has been deprecated and the page will not be updated or included in future web page releases.

Changing the Aeon Home Page

The Aeon home page can be set to one of three options using the WebHomePage customization key in the Aeon Customization Manager (located under Web Interface | Defaults):

Outstanding Requests

Sets the home page to ViewOutstandingRequests.html

This is the default for new Aeon installations beginning with Aeon 5.2.
View Appointments

Sets the home page to ViewAppointments.html

This option should only be used when appointment scheduling features are enabled in Aeon and the appointment scheduling web pages have been installed in the Aeon web directory.
Main Menu

Sets the home page to MainMenu.html

This option is available for pre-existing Aeon Installations prior to Aeon 5.2 only. Sites updating from a previous version of Aeon to 5.2 will have this option selected by default.
