Searching in the Ares Customization Manager

Follow

The Customization Manager provides a search interface to quickly locate customization keys and table in the hierarchy tree. The search will attempt to find customization keys where the key name, value or description matches your search term. Search results will also include customization tables that match your search term.

  1. Enter a search term in the Search Tab of the Home ribbon.
  2. Click the search button or type enter to perform your search.

To view previous search terms, click the small arrow in the search textbox. Click one of the previous search terms in the dropdown to have it entered into the search textbox. Click on the X next to a previously searched term to remove it from the search drop-down.

Search Results

After performing a search, matching search results will be displayed in the lower part of the hierarchy tree. Both customization keys and tables will be displayed in this area. Click on a search result item to directly modify the key or table.

The Favorites List

The Favorites feature allows you to bookmark keys and tables that you access regularly so that you can locate them quickly. To add a key or table to the Favorites list, right click on your selection in the hierarchy tree and click Add Favorite. A dialog box appears allowing you to name the bookmark entry. Keep the name as shown or change the default by clicking Add. A heart icon is placed next to the key or table in the hierarchy tree, and the entry appears under the Favorites icon on the Home ribbon. Click the Favorites icon to view the entries there.

To access a key or table, click on the entry in the list. The key or table is located in the hierarchy tree and the corresponding View displays. To remove a key or table from the Favorites list, right-click on the entry in the hierarchy tree and click Remove Favorite. The heart icon disappears and the entry is no longer displayed in the Favorites list. The Favorites list is saved per machine between sessions.
