Customization Manager Setup Wizards

The Ares Customization Manager Setup Wizards will guide you through the required information needed to implement Ares. The Ares Customization Manager contains five Setup Wizards that will help you configure various Ares components. The Ares Setup Wizards are the Contact Info wizard, the System Setup wizard, the Policies wizard, the SMTP wizard, and the Web Interface wizard.

1. In the Ares Customization Manager, click on Setup Wizards to see a list of the different wizards.
2. Select the Setup Wizard you would like to use. The Wizard will open and you will see navigation arrows.
3. Navigate through the customization keys using the Forward and Back buttons. You can also use the First and Last buttons to start at the beginning or go to the end.
4. Once you have finished editing in the Setup Wizard, click the Close button to exit.

When using the setup wizard, you must move through the setup with the wizard navigation buttons, as the Customization tree will not be active. The Search and Favorites controls on the Home page will also not be active. Because the customization manager retains the progress you've made in the setup wizard, you can close the wizard or the customization manager before completely customizing a feature. The next time you open the wizard for that feature, it will resume at the location where you previously stopped.

Contact Info Setup Wizard

The Contact Info Setup Wizard will allow you to set the address, email, phone, etc. for both your library and your Reserves department. It will also allow you to specify the email address and name that any outgoing Ares emails will send from.

1. Open the Contact Info Setup Wizard by going into the Ares Customization Manager and clicking onSetup Wizards, then Contact Info.
2. Fill in the values for the customization keys listed in the tables below. Descriptions are given for each key to help you in filling out the information.
3. Once you have filled in all the needed values, click Close to close the Setup Wizard.

System Setup Setup Wizard

The System Setup Setup Wizard will allow you to set options regarding upload method, printing and scanning, authentication, and many other general Ares settings.

1. Open the Contact Info Setup Wizard by going into the Ares Customization Manager and clicking on Setup Wizards, then System Setup.
2. Fill in the values for the customization keys listed in the tables below. Descriptions are given for each key to help you in filling out the information.
3. Once you have filled in all the needed values, click Close to close the Setup Wizard.

Policies Setup Wizard

The Policies Setup Wizard will allow you to set some general policies in Ares regarding cloning, copyright, and others.

1. Open the Contact Info Setup Wizard by going into the Ares Customization Manager and clicking onSetup Wizards, then Policies.
2. Fill in the values for the customization keys listed in the tables below. Descriptions are given for each key to help you in filling out the information.
3. Once you have filled in all the needed values, click Close to close the Setup Wizard.

SMTP Setup Wizard

The SMTP Setup Wizard will allow you to set the keys used to configure emails settings in Ares. You will need the username and password for your email service.

1. Open the Contact Info Setup Wizard by going into the Ares Customization Manager and clicking on Setup Wizards, then SMTP.
2. Fill in the values for the customization keys listed in the tables below. Descriptions are given for each key to help you in filling out the information.
3. Once you have filled in all the needed values, click Close to close the Setup Wizard.

Web Interface Setup Wizard

The Web Interface Setup Wizard will allow you to set the default values for your Ares web pages.

1. Open the Contact Info Setup Wizard by going into the Ares Customization Manager and clicking on Setup Wizards, then Web Interface.
2. Fill in the values for the customization keys listed in the tables below. Descriptions are given for each key to help you in filling out the information.
3. Once you have filled in all the needed values, click Close to close the Setup Wizard.
