In some cases, the Aeon installation scripts may set an incorrect value in the Staff Web Client's appsettings.json file during the Aeon 6.0 update. This can lead to issues completing the multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup for staff accounts in the Aeon Web Client. For example, staff may experience issues where the Multi-Factor Authentication Setup page times out too quickly to complete the setup process or where the web client will not accept the authentication code generated by their authentication application during the setup process. To resolve this issue:

  1. Navigate to the installation location for the Aeon Web Client on the Aeon Server (default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Aeon\AeonStaff).
  2. Open the appsettings.json file located in this folder in a text-editing application, such as Notepad++.
  3. Check the protocol used for the URL in the AeonApiBaseUrl setting value and change "http://" to "https://".
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Restart IIS on the Aeon Server.
  6. Re-attempt the MFA setup process for your staff account in the Aeon Web Client application.
  7. If the issue is not resolved, contact support@atlas-sys.com for further troubleshooting assistance.
