Aeon Web Client Dashboard

Print Friendly and PDF Follow

The Dashboard is displayed upon login and acts as the home page of the Aeon Web Client. This page displays a list of the number of item requests in each process queue as well as a reading room sign-in interface and an appointment calendar interface when appointment scheduling features have been configured in the Aeon Customization Manager. This article will provide an overview of each of these sections.

To quickly navigate back to the Dashboard from other web client pages, click the Aeon icon (Aeon icon.png) in the navigation menu or the home icon (home Icon.png) on the toolbar at the top of the screen.

Request List

The Request List section of the Dashboard displays a list of all item requests organized by process queue:

  • Double-clicking on a queue in the list will load a new page displaying a grid that lists the details for each request in that queue. These grids are read-only, however, Aeon administrators can customize the columns that appear in the request list grids using the customization options available on the Staff Administration page.

The Aeon Web Client can be used to view the list of requests in each queue, however, the Aeon Desktop Client must be used to process or change the status of these requests.
  • Empty queues that do not currently hold any item requests will not be displayed in the list.
  • The queues within this section will be grouped by the Menu Group assigned to each queue in the Queues table of the Aeon Customization Manager. Queues without an assigned Menu Group will display under the "Uncategorized" grouping. For more information on configuring these groupings, see The Queues Table.

Signed In Users

The Signed In Users section of the Dashboard displays a list of all users currently signed into reading rooms:

  • Users within this section will be grouped by the reading room that they are signed into and then by status (Present or Away) within each room.
  • Each user's first and last name, image (if one has been uploaded for the user in the Aeon Desktop Client), and seating location within the room (if a location has been assigned) will be displayed. If a user has a preferred name set on their user record, that name will be displayed in place of the first name.

Reading rooms and seating locations are configured in the Aeon Customization Manager. For more information, see Configuring Reading Rooms and Locations
  • Clicking the Action menu icon (Action Menu Icon.png) next to a user in the list will open a menu containing the following options:
    • View User: Click to navigate to the user's record on the User Information page.
    • Set to Present/Away: Toggle the user's status between Present or Away within the room.
    • Sign User Out: Sign the user out of the reading room.
    • Change Location: Assign the user a seating location within the reading room. This option only appears if the user is not currently assigned a location. To change a user's location after a location has been assigned, the user must be signed out of the room and signed back in with the new location specified. See Signing Users In and Out for more information on this process.

Appointments

The Appointments section of the Dashboard displays a calendar interface containing a list of the appointments scheduled for a specified date. This section only displays if appointment scheduling functionality has been configured in the Aeon Customization Manager.

For a detailed overview of this section and for instructions on using the options within the calendar interface, see the appointment calendar documentation in the Managing Appointments in the Client article.
