Creating New Photoduplication Request Forms for Cloning to Copy

Print Friendly and PDF Follow

Using your generic loan request forms, you can create identical, customized forms for your clone to copy photoduplication requests. The custom forms are created by copying, renaming and editing the original generic request forms, for example, the generic monograph forms. When patrons submit a loan photoduplication request using the Clone Request to Copy command, the new Photoduplication request form displays the information in the same fields as the original request form.

Creating the Request Forms

You will need to create the following forms for each new customized request form. The easiest way to do this is to copy the generic form and rename the new form. We use the generic monograph form, GenericRequestMonograph.html, as our example.

  • The request form: copy and save GenericRequestMonograph.html as GenericRequestMonographPhotodup.html
  • The Edit request form: copy and save EditGenericRequestMonograph.html as EditGenericRequestMonographPhotodup.html
  • The ViewDetailed form: copy and save ViewDetailedMonographInformation.html to ViewDetailedMonographPhotodupInformation.html

Editing the Request Form

  1. Edit the AeonForm field and form heading to reflect the new photoduplication form. Using the GenericRequestMonograph.html example:
    • Change the AeonForm field value from GenericRequestMonograph to GenericRequestMonographPhotodup
    • Change the header from New Monograph Request to New Photoduplication Request for Monograph
  2. Change the RequestType value in the identifier code from Loan to Copy.

Editing the Edit Request Form

  1. Edit the AeonForm field and form heading to reflect the new photoduplication form. Using the EditGenericRequestMonograph.html example:
    • Change the AeonForm field value from EditGenericRequestMonograph to EditGenericRequestMonographPhotodup
    • Change the header from Edit Monograph Request to Edit Photoduplication Request for Monograph
  2. Change the RequestType value in the identifier code from Loan to Copy.

Editing the ViewDetailed Form

  • Change the column header from Monograph Information to Transaction Information, the standard header for photoduplication requests.

There is a key called WebSessionMinutes in the Customization Manager under Web Interface | System. This key dictates the number of minutes before a customer will be automatically logged out of the Aeon web interface if they are not actively using the web pages. This will alleviate problems with customers leaving a public terminal while still being logged into Aeon and someone else submitting fraudulent requests as that customer. Set this key to the number of minutes that you feel is best for your Aeon system.
