Adding or Removing Flags

You can easily add or remove flags from Items in many places in the Ares client. When an Item is flagged, the flag queue will display on the Ares home screen.

Adding Flags to Items

The Add Flag button appears on the Item form, the Process Copyright form, the Item search results list, and the Item list. When you add a flag, the Item will remain in its processing queue (such as Awaiting Reserves Processing) but will also appear in the flag queue that you add it to. These flag queues are visible on the Ares home screen.

  1. Open the Item that you want to add a flag to. You can also add a flag from the Process Copyright form, the Item search results list, and the Item list.
  2. To add a flag, click Add Flag.
  3. Select the flag that you want to add from the list. You can add more than one flag to a request.
  4. A popup will ask you to confirm that you want to add the flag.
  5. Click Yes to continue.

Removing Flags from Items

The Remove Flag button appears on the Item form and on lists of Item that are flagged. Removing a flag from an Item will remove the flag status, but the Item will remain in its processing queue (such as Awaiting Reserves Processing).

  1. On the Ares home screen, double-click to open a flag queue.
  2. Select the Item you want to remove the flag from and click Remove Flag.
  3. Alternatively, double-click to open the Item form and click Remove Flag there.
  4. A popup will ask you to confirm that you want to remove the flag.
  5. Click Yes to continue.
