Daily Process Reports

Several of the processes that run each day in Ares create daily reports that are accessible in the Ares client.

Daily Process Reports in the Client

The Daily Process Group in the Ares Client provides a summary of daily processes at a glance on the Client dashboard. The following process creates a Daily Process report:

  • CCC Status Update
  • Course and User loads
  • Item Activation
  • Item Cleanup
  • Orphan File Cleanup

An indicator next to each report reflects the status of each process. This indicator displays as an icon by default but can be represented as text by customizing the grid.

  • Green = Success - The process completed successfully.
  • Yellow = Error(s) - The process completed, but error(s) were recorded.
  • Red = Failure - The process failed. An error prevented the completion of the process.

By default, this grid contains the process name, the last time it was run, and the color-coded process status indicator. This grid makes it easier to tell if any of the daily processes have persistent problems that prevent them from running to completion or if they have not run at all recently.

Viewing Reports

Double-click the name of a Process in the group to open the reports for that process. The report includes the following information:

  • Process name
  • Time the process ran
  • Summary description of what activities the process completed
  • Overall status of the process

A new tabbed form opens with a history of the reports. Messages for process failures are generic but detailed information is available in the System Manager logs. When a process completes but has errors, a more detailed description is available in the report history grid.

Email Course and User Load Report

The Course and User Load process is able to generate an email report that provides more detailed report with individual errors, the details of those errors, and summaries of its tasks (loading validation data, creating new users, creating new courses, and maintaining existing courses). The email will automatically be sent daily to an email address defined the System | Course and User Loads | CourseUserLoadReportEmailAddress. If this key is blank, no email will be generated.

When an email value is entered in the CourseUserLoadReportEmailAddress, the content of this email will also be available via the Client in the Course and User Load report detail.
