Ares 5.0.4 Release Date and 4.7 End of Support Dates Announced

Hello Ares Users,

We’re excited to announce the official release date of the very anticipated Ares update including support for LTI 1.3, updates to Copyright Clearance Center integration, new API functionality, and several other small improvements. On Monday, July 25^th, 2022, Atlas Systems will be releasing this update for users currently on Ares 5.0.x. This update will require a server update to v5.0.5 and a client update to version 5.0.4.

We strongly recommend all staff who use Ares review these and documentation on new features and any updating prerequisites.

Updating Procedures

• Atlas Systems Hosted: Please contact support@atlas-sys.com to schedule your update with hosting services.
• Self-hosted: Please review the updating instructions and coordinate with your IT department to schedule the update.

Please note, that after the server has been updated, staff users will be automatically prompted to update staff clients by the Client Automatic Updater feature based on the update type (per user or per machine) selected when the client was installed.

End of Support

With all the excitement surrounding the new release, I wanted to let you know we will be pushing out the END OF SUPPORT FOR VERSION 4.7 on September 1st, 2022.

Please upgrade to Ares to version 5.0.x by August 31st, 2022, to ensure you will receive the latest support (e.g., security updates) and to ensure you don’t lose access to the integrated services (e.g., CCC interface and LTI). The CCC has announced they will be shutting off the old service used by Ares v5.0.3 and any prior versions of Ares on August 31st, 2022.
