Aeon Client Hotfix, version 5.1.8

Atlas will be releasing a new Aeon client, version 5.1.8 tomorrow, 9/20/2022. This is a client-only hotfix. No server update is required. When it is released, Aeon 5.1 users will automatically be prompted to install it.

This release will reduce lengthy loading times and improve the overall performance of the application. In support of these enhancements, several minor changes have been made to the default refresh behavior in the Aeon Client and are detailed in the release notes. A summary of those changes is below:

  • Several Customization Manager settings will be saved when they are first retrieved rather than continually retrieving to use when needed
  • Information on the main dashboard (including request queues and counts, email counts, and uncleared users) will now refresh every 60 seconds when focused on. Staff are encouraged to use the hard Refresh option in the Quick Access Toolbar as needed.
  • The lists of requests displayed when a queue is opened will require a hard refresh when changes are made

These changes will be included in the next major release if you choose not to update now. However, staff will continue to receive a notification to update on login.
