ILLiad and DOCLINE 6.1 lending requests - use the ILLiad ribbon import buttons
ILLiad users and support staff learned a lot today about new DOCLINE 6.1 integration. I’m working on a video to demonstrate, but wanted to get this information out to you immediately. When importing DOCLINE lending requests within ILLiad, you want to use the ILLiad ribbon/toolbar options to import. If you click the DOCLINE buttons on the DOCLINE web pages showing within the ILLiad browser, the requests get receipted making them unavailable for ILLiad to import.
We’ve seen a number of support tickets today where the DOCLINE receipt buttons in the browser within ILLiad were used rather than the ILLiad Import button options on the ribbon at top of the screen. We are looking into how we might create a process for you to re-import when browser buttons are clicked by mistake, but for now the only option is to enter those requests manually.
I’ll post a walkthrough of the ILLiad DOCLINE lending import process here as soon as the video is complete.
Thanks so much for working with us today to identify and resolve workflow and technical issues.
You can review documentation on primary DOCLINE processing workflows in our documentation:
Look for articles that end with ILLiad Versions 9.0.3 & 8.7.3 Only.
I'm trying to import a single request, but when I click on the link within the ILLiad browser, it opens the request in a separate Microsoft Edge window instead of within the ILLiad browser, so that button is not active. Any advice?
Did you use the Import All Requests button in the Lending ribbon? It sounds like you may have clicked the Receipt Request button within the ILLiad window which will open the request in a separate window and removes the trigger for ILLiad to know that the request is new.
If you accidentally clicked the blue Receipt Request button, you can still process the request in ILLiad with the workaround described in this article. Directions for importing lending requests are here and a quick demo here.
Let us know if you used the Import All Requests button because that should kick off the process shown above, and we'll get a support ticket going for you.
Yes, I had already received it within Docline, so it wouldn't import using the Import All button. I was able to fill that specific request, but I'm thinking more about future situations where I want to import a single request. Looking at the instructions at the bottom of the page for "Importing a Specific Type of Request" will not work, since I can't navigate to the receipt page within the ILLiad browser - it always kicks me out to a separate window when I try to do that.
Hello! We've posted a few videos demonstrating the lending import processes here https://training.atlas-sys.com/Course/Details/4330 There is one that demonstrates the Import Current Page function. We are working to see if we can address the issue of the request opening in a new browser window as well.
For now, Dave, just use the Import All Requests function even if you just have one request in a category.
The problem is that we don't want to import all requests, as we don't import requests that we are rejecting or that we are filling via email. In the past we have done that by importing the requests we want via the clipboard, but that doesn't seem to be an option anymore.
We have a new set of DOCLINE scripts available that will prevent the separate window from opening when you access one request. See the directions for installing those new scripts here: https://support.atlas-sys.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360028810513-DOCLINE-Revised-Scripts-to-Prevent-New-Window-Opening
Thank you! That sounds like it will really help. The instructions indicate downloading the 9.0.3 LUA scripts, but my institution is on 220.127.116.11. Should I still use the 9.0.3 scripts? Thank you again for your help with this!
Hi Dave, we confirmed with testing that the new 9.0.3 scripts will also work with 8.7.3 clients. Have a good week!
