Aeon 5.2 client and server point release
Hello,
Today, July 6th, 2023, Atlas Systems will release an Aeon 5.2 point release. This release will include both a server update and a client update. All information outlined below is documented in the Aeon 5.2 Release Notes.
A point release for Aeon 5.1 will also be released on July 6th. This release includes the CAPTCHA support as described below. Please consult the Aeon 5.1 Release Notes for details. If you would like to update to this release, please submit a ticket to support@atlas-sys.com.
For customers already using Aeon 5.2, you will receive a client update notification when the client update is available. The client update includes the following bug fixes:
- <#Request.CancelNote> will now appropriately resolve in the ItemCancellation email template.
- Fixed an issue where Reply To addresses configured for email templates would not be added to emails generated by the Aeon Client.
- The Hide Completed/Cancelled checkbox option will no longer hide appointments currently in progress. Appointments will now only be considered completed and hidden once the appointment’s stop time is reached.
The server update includes support for:
- CAPTCHA integration - add a captcha challenge requirement to the New User Registration page to prevent bot-driven account creation.
- Supported Photoduplication toggle control on Aeon request forms - the photoduplication toggle control will allow patrons to toggle between submitting a reading room request or a photoduplication request on a request form.
And includes the following bug fixes:
- Fixed an issue where web users could not view appointment details for appointments with start dates in the past or with start dates exceeding the Request Minimum Lead Days setting.
- Resolved an issue where appointments were sometimes visible to unrelated users on the web interface.
- Fixed an issue where the Aeon DLL would sometimes apply the incorrect set of appointment scheduling policies to the appointment scheduler on the web.
The CAPTCHA support and photoduplication toggle require associated web page changes to implement. Please consult the release notes for information.
Atlas-hosted servers that have already been updated to Aeon 5.2 will qualify for an automatic server update. You do not need to schedule this update. Atlas ITS will contact you to provide further details about this update.
