Yikes! All our copyright tracking is gone!
You returned from you holiday break refreshed, revitalized and resolved not to let work stress you out. But first thing, you open the copyright clearance queue and your stomach drops when you see that the Journal Title list is blank! You push back the tears as you realize that you will now spend the next three weeks going through all the finished requests to find the journal titles where your patrons's requests exceeded the CONTU guidelines instead of throwing out the jiffy bags from the mail station cupboards as you had hoped.
You begin your plan of attack thinking about the CONTU guidelines and how you can approach the search of the hundreds of article requests to find those that exceed the best practice limit--start with articles less than 5 years old that we've requested in the last calendar year ... last calendar year. Wait! Is that it? Is ILLiad really that smart?
Yes indeed, ILLiad is that smart. Now that it's 2018--you have a fresh slate for all those resolutions and ILLiad has refreshed your copyright list to zero. The count against the most recent journal articles has begun again.
All your 2017 copyright information is still available for you to submit as an order to the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC). From the Borrowing ribbon, click the bottom half of the Process Copyright button to select Submit Copyright orders and change the default dates to load the items to report to the CCC for 2017. Full details on submitting your copyright order are here: https://support.atlas-sys.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011807714-Submitting-Copyright-Orders
You will have time to tidy up the mail station cupboards.
Happy New Year!
