Aeon Security Update on March 1st, 2022
Hello Aeon Users,
Atlas Systems will be releasing a security update for all applications supporting the log4net components tomorrow March 1st, 2022. This hotfix will be released to all supported versions of Aeon (v5.0 & v5.1). For details on the update, please see the Aeon release notes for your current version.
This update also adds a new key for Aeon: StaffPasswordComplexity. This key contains a regular expression to enforce password complexity requirements for staff client accounts.
This release includes both a server and client update. The Aeon Server must be updated to the latest version before beginning the Aeon Client update process to ensure that the new StaffPasswordComplexity customization key is properly added.
The Aeon Client will begin prompting users to update to the newest version once the server update is completed. Note: updating procedures vary based on product/version.
Atlas Systems Hosted: Hosting services will be sending a separate email to inform you of the update. Hosted servers qualify for automatic updates which will happen as soon as possible with no noticeable downtime and no required action on your part.
Self-hosted: Please review the updating instructions and contact your local server administrator to schedule the server update.
