Updates from the RBMS Aeon Users Group Meeting
This past Thursday at the RBMS Conference we hosted the Aeon Users Group meeting at the Sheraton Iowa City. We saw lots of familiar faces and several new ones, as well.
Genie Powell, Atlas's Chief Customer Officer, provided an update the upcoming release of Aeon 4.0. Genie also gave an overview of the new enhancement system, UserVoice. In an effort to be more transparent with enhancements and updates, all planned work for Aeon 4.0 is tagged as "Planned" or "Pending Release" in the Aeon Ideas and Aeon Known Issues sections. We encourage all Aeon users to add their voices and votes to the UserVoice interface.
We also had a special guest at our meeting - Gloria Gonzalez from Zepheira. Gloria joined us to give a presentation on Web Visibility Services and the Library.Link network. She talked about the ways in which linked data can benefit special collections by transforming MARC and EAD data and making it more visible on the web. Imagine someone searching online for an item in your collection and finding that it's available for them to request in your reading room! For more information about Atlas Web Visibility Services, contact Dan Specht at webvisibility@atlas-sys.com.
We will host another Aeon Users Group meeting at SAA. If you have ideas or questions about the next meeting, please contact us at support@atlas-sys.com.
Thank you to all who attended and to the RBMS Conference Committee for a great couple of days in Iowa City!
