OCLC Special Messages - Not Received (Lending)
When you receive the OCLC Special Message "Not Received" in Lending it means that the Borrowing library has responded "No" to the Special Message "Received?". This could be for a couple of reasons:
1. The item was never sent to the Borrowing institution. You should check any local tracking you may have, and you might want to check your stacks as well.
2. The item has not arrived at the Borrowing institution yet. You may want to check with the appropriate delivery service or courier to see if there has been any delay.
3. The item has arrived at the Borrowing institution but has not been marked as Received. You should contact the Borrowing institution and ask them to update the request.
Please note that, when all is said and done, the book may have been lost on its way to the Borrowing library. Remember that the ILL Code for the United States stipulates that the Borrower is responsible for lost items once they leave the Lending library, even if they are never received by the Borrowing library or are lost on their way back.
