OCLC Special Messages - Complete? (Lending)
When you receive the OCLC Special Message "Complete?" in Lending it means that you have not yet marked the item as "Complete" in Lending. The message will appear 14 days after a loan has been marked as "Returned" by the Borrowing library. This could be for a couple of reasons:
1. The item has not yet arrived at the Lending institution. You may want to contact the Borrowing library to see if the item has actually been returned. You may also want to check your stacks to see if the item was returned and then re-shelved without being checked in.
2. The item has arrived at the Lending institution but has not yet been marked as "Complete" by the Lending library. You should check in the item through the normal process or update the transaction to "Complete" manually.
Please note that, when all is said and done, the book may have been lost on its way back to the Lending library. Remember that the ILL Code for the United States stipulates that the borrower is responsible for lost items once they leave the Lending library, even if they are never received by the Borrowing library or are lost on their way back.
