Resource Records Overview

Resource Records in Archives Space describe materials that are in the custody of an archival repository. Each resource must have a unique identifier, which could be a collection number, an item number, or a title. Additionally, you can combine identification information to create a more unique identifier. A resource may be one item like individual letter or file or a collection of items with a longer extent such as a collection of papers or memorabilia. Resource records in ArchivesSpace allow staff to create records and manage collection information in an organized way.
