Configuring Ariel Electronic Delivery

If your institution uses Ariel, the following keys must be set in the ILLiad Customization Manager.

ArielType

Used to differentiate between Ariel 4.1 and higher, and previous versions of Ariel. Query is used for Ariel Version 4.1 and higher. File is used for earlier versions.

ArielPath

This is the local path on the Electronic Delivery client machine to the Ariel In directory. This key is used by the ILLiad client to locate the Ariel In folder for importing Ariel files into the ILLiad client for processing.

Example: c:\Program Files\Ariel\In\

ArielDatabaseAddress

Shows the location of the Ariel installation database in relation to the ILLiad client. Defaults to (localhost) if importing from the Ariel machine. Note: This key is used only if ArielType value is set to Query.

Example: 123.123.123.123

ArielDatabaseName Only used if ArielType equals Query. The name of the Ariel installation database. This should only be set if the Ariel installation has an alternate database name. Example: ariel
ArielDatabasePassword Only used if ArielType equals Query. The password to connect to the Ariel installation database. This should only be set if the Ariel installation has an alternate password for authenticating to the database. Example: ariel
ArielDatabaseUser Only used if ArielType equals Query. The username to connect to the Ariel installation database. This should only be set if the Ariel installation has an alternate username for authenticating to the database. Example: sa

The LendingImportAutoAriel Key

Setting the LendingImportAutoAriel key in the Customization Manager to Yes overrides the site's Default Shipping Article value (located in the Lender Address form) and marks items for Ariel delivery by changing the value of the Shipping Options field in the Lending request form to "Ariel".

This key will only flag the request for Ariel delivery if the word "Ariel" is in any of the following fields on the Imported Request tab:

  • ShipTo
  • ShipVia
  • BorrowingNotes
  • Affiliation
  • Fax
  • EMail
